November 2019.

Tomorrow, 6 November 2019, GRC and Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH) will hold an in-country workshop in Bamako, Mali on the rise of acute malnutrition, famine, and its links to armed conflict. The workshop will see the participation of civil society organisations representatives and will look at the range of tools developed by GRC to monitor violations of IHL, including the Basic Investigative Standards Starvation Manual.

The outcome of the workshop will be included in a joint GRC – WHH publication, which will be published in 2020, aimed at German political stakeholders, will focus on the rise of conflict and hunger and how this intersects with Germany’s pledges to Sustainable Development Goal 2 – Zero Hunger, and their work at the UNSC during their chairmanship, on strengthening international humanitarian law (IHL).
