Rebecca Bakos Blumenthal is an international jurist, specialising in international human rights, humanitarian and criminal law. She completed her Integrated Master of Arts in Law at Bocconi University in Milan and an LLM in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam. At GRC, Rebecca has been engaged in the development of Phase II of the “Accountability for Mass Starvation” project and conducts in-depth legal analysis on various facets of the crime of starvation and violations of the right to food. She is further involved in conducting open-source research on conflict-induced hunger in a range of country-specific contexts, including in Yemen, South Sudan, Syria and Ethiopia, with a view to advancing accountability efforts. Rebecca has previously interned with UNICEF and the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute.
