GRC launches the Guidebook: Ratifying and Implementing the Starvation Amendment to the Rome Statute

Global Rights Compliance (GRC), is proud to announce the launch of the Guidebook on Ratifying and Implementing the Starvation Amendment (Ratification Guidebook). This new resource, made possible thanks to the generous support the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland (FDFA-Switzerland), is designed to support efforts towards the ratification and implementation of the Starvation Amendment to the Rome Statute.

The Ratification Guidebook contains key information and resources about the Starvation Amendment, the importance of ratification and implementation, and how best to achieve this. It is designed for anyone working with or on behalf of States with an interest in protecting civilians from the use of starvation as a weapon of war. That includes:

  • Members of Parliament
  • Ministries of Foreign Affairs
  • Ministries of Justice and Defence
  • Attorneys General and Government Legal Advisors
  • Other Government Ministers and Government Departments
  • Parliamentary Counsel and legislative drafters
  • Diplomats
  • Individuals or groups pursuing the eradication of hunger
  • Individuals or groups interested in strengthening the rule of law.

The Ratification Guidebook is available in English, French and Spanish.
