In light of the ceasefire deal in Gaza, GRC’s Vice-President and Head of the Starvation and Humanitarian Crisis Division, Catriona Murdoch spoke to The Herald underlining the importance of upholding the ceasefire and ensuring that starvation is not used as a weapon against the Palestinian people.
Anna Gallina, GRC’s Gaza Project lead investigating starvation-related violations in Gaza spoke to the Mail Online urging ‘the unhindered entry of humanitarian assistance aid to Gaza’ and emphasising that ‘It is now vital that all actors persevere with demands to restore basic standards of living in Gaza and lasting peace.’
In the HuffPost Anna stressed, ‘A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is a vital first step towards alleviating the current humanitarian catastrophe afflicting civilians in Gaza, but it must be followed by immediate access by the civilian population to objects indispensable to its survival and the facilitation of full, rapid, safe and unhindered entry of humanitarian assistance’.
