Following the release of the SMJT’s new report which reveals the Russian campaign to cripple Ukraine’s grain trade and economy, Catriona Murdoch, Starvation and Humanitarian Crisis Division Lead was cited in multiple publications.
The Daily Express’ article ‘Putin faces ‘war crimes’ charges for orchestrating attacks on Ukraine vital grain supplies’ showcased the report’s key findings, and quoted Catriona Murdoch: “Given the scale and impact of these attacks on the Odesa region, international investigations must now mirror Ukraine’s national investigations and prioritise the targeting of agricultural infrastructure as a war crime. The protection of critical civilian infrastructure and food systems in conflict zones is not only a legal obligation – it is essential to safeguarding civilian populations and global food security.”
Catriona was also cited in the Irish Star, “Putin ‘orchestrated attacks on Ukraine’s economy constitute ‘war crimes‘”.
