Yemen promises to be most severe famine in living memory. It is at its core man-made. Documentation indicates thousands of repeated strikes on water infrastructure, agricultural areas, factories, fisheries and markets. In addition to blockades, sieges, the obstruction of humanitarian aid, the theft of humanitarian aid, salaries unpaid for years and extreme inflation. These are the methods of warfare seemingly in play in Yemen. There is little doubt that these mass atrocities masquerading as natural disasters or mistakes should be investigated and placed firmly within the rubric of international criminal law.
