GRC is delighted to see the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize go to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) for its tireless efforts to combat hunger, to better conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict. For communities ravaged by famine and food insecurity, latterly compounded by the COVID pandemic, peace is often absent or fragile. The award accurately reflects this significant link and the WFP’s immense contribution in this field. Since 2017, GRC has been humbled and privileged to support the WFP through its starvation portfolio.
